Shippon Cottage has been personally restored brick by brick to ensure the highest of quality of design and finishing touches. Shippon, whilst deceptively small in looks from the exterior is a spacious 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom holiday cottage it combines the traditional homely comforts with contemporary design features to make your stay as pleasurable as can be. Ideal for families to holiday, reunite with faraway relatives and have a week away with friends.

Open plan cosy living space

The open plan ground floor is the perfect space for entertaining and getting together with family and friends. Feel the warmth of the underfloor heating coming through the oak flooring of the ground floor as you put your feet up and flick on your favorite film on the flat screen TV and DVD player, or connect to the free WiFi to stay in contact with work, family and friends. 
Light up the fire with our complimentary basket of logs, from mid September - mid April The utility room provides an additional toilet, wash basin and perfect space to house all of your muddy boots and coats after a long days walk.

Cooking and Dining

Preparing a feast for all is not a problem in Shippon’s immaculate well equipped kitchen with oak cabinets, granite worktops, Belfast sink, double range oven, dishwasher, fridge freezer and all the other essential kitchen items. 

Wine and dine under the old oak beams as the wood burner crackles at the extendable dining table for up to 10/12, perfect for accommodating friends and family staying in the other accommodations over for an evening meal. Let the little one join in on the fun with a pre arranged high chair - suitable from 6 months old.

All of Shippon’s bedrooms are fitted with deep mattresses and cosy cotton sheets ready to sink into after a long day.

Garden and Grounds

Watch the kids run care free in the mown private garden area, break out the Pimms on a hot summers day while cooking up a BBQ at the patio with hardwood table and seating. This is the perfect place to spend time with loved ones out in the fresh air of the Great British countryside.

Private car parking is also available at the front of the cottage for guest.

Surrounding area

If it’s pub grub you’re after, try the local Bull’s Head in Foolow. Stroll down the lane with your dog and enjoy a pint or two of good local ales by the fire then ask the friendly landlord for a lift home after a night of fun. Or venture further to one of the many villages pubs nearby, such as the Barrel at Bretton or the Flagstone.

The surrounding area of Brosterfield offers a fantastic variety of restaurants, cafes and bakeries to suit any taste. For traditional Italian head to El Lupo's in Baslow or French at Piedaniels. Catch a coffee break at Riley’s in Bakewell or have a night in with a takeaway from The Curry Cottage.

For a night of celebration or just in the mood for beautiful food, dinning at the Michelin-starred Fischer’s at Baslow Hall is the ideal place to spend the evening.
